Dan Nunalee at the NC Zoo

Recently I took a road trip with my girlfriend to the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro, North Carolina. For anyone that would be interested it was an awesome trip. It is not a bad ride at all, only about a little bit more than an hour to get there and well worth the ride.

The Park is on about 500 acres of land and all of it is very pretty indeed. You will walk about 5 miles in all when visiting the park because all of the exhibits, they are all on a trail that goes throughout the Park, in other words wear good walking shoes. Don't worry there is a trolley to take you back to the Park gate so you don't have to walk back. All in all you will see around 1,100 different animals and over 40,000 plants on your tour. It only costs $10 dollars per person to see the park, so for the price of a movie ticket you can see tons of animals and plants many of which can be found in North Carolina. You can visit the North Carolina Zoo’s website for all other additional details that you will need for your visit, again I don’t know a better way to spend a Saturday.
